    I love this cookware

I have been eyeing on this for years. Finally pull the trigger. My boyfriend was skeptical. I said if we don't buy it, we will never know if it is truly amazing and easy to use. And truly is amazing. I made Taiwanese beef soup and the meat was so tender. It melted in our mouth. Then I made a few more dishes using their recipe book and they all tasted so amazing. My boyfriend agreed it was a really good bye. It saves so much time. We also cooked beets with it. I plan on making a video on Youtube to show how to make Taiwanese beef soup using this amazing gadget. Don't hesitate!

    Perfect Brown rice every time

I also made beef shanks in less time and fuss than stovetop/oven method. I am especially interested in making amazake! Highly recommended.

Love it but it's not always working the way it should

While I love my Musui Kamado overall, some?recipes just don't turn out. Pineapple Upside Down cake, for example... the batter just doesn't cook all the way through. I end up having to finish it in the oven. It worked the very first time but the last 4 times, I had to stick in the oven. I have the same issue with steam roasted vegies; sometimes the potatoes come out very undercooked. Why is that? Does anyone have ideas?

    Hi Monica,

Thank you for your feedback and we're sorry to hear that you've been experiencing inconsistent results with certain recipes like your pineapple upside down cake and steam roasted veggies.

Regarding the Pineapple Upside Down cake, after the first 15 minutes of baking, gently open the lid to vent the steam, then wipe off any moisture on the inside of the lid using a clean cloth or paper towel. Once done, close the lid and continue baking for the remaining time. This step helps the cake finish baking with a better texture. Please try the above and see if it cooks to the desired amount.

Since you also mentioned that the potatoes were slightly undercooked when preparing the Steam-Roasted Vegetables recipe, we recommend making slight adjustments to the cooking time to ensure they are cooked through to your desired result.

If the steps above do not resolve the issue, the pot may have developed a buildup of residue and may require a more thorough cleaning. When the Musui has accumulated significant staining or residue, it can become more prone to food sticking and may not distribute heat as evenly as intended. For all stains for the Musui, we recommend using Bar Keeper’s Friend Soft Cleanser (liquid type) and scrubbing with balled-up plastic wrap or a soft sponge. Plastic wrap tends to work best because it doesn’t absorb the cleanser.

If you have any questions or would like further support regarding the above, please reach out to us at support@vermicular.us with details about your cooking process, including heat settings and any other specifics about how you're preparing these dishes. Our team would be happy to work with you to identify what might be causing the inconsistency and help you achieve better results.

    Form, function and versatility

I borrowed a friend’s Kamado and was impressed with it. Purchased to use for cooking rice without a nonstick liner but the versatility is what really sold me. Ability to sear and cook in the same pot is great. Looking forward to converting my slow-cooker favorites for this machine. Cookbook is beautiful!
