    Great pan

It’s smaller than I thought so I might have to get a bigger one now.

Overall good and light pan - but enamel loss comes very quickly

Overall good and light pan but the enamelled comes off very quickly.

The heat distribution is also uneven as the pan is not entirely flat as I try to show in the video.

This is unfortunate as the pan heats very quickly and is made with non-toxic enamel.

(Very few cast iron enamelled pans are made with non-toxic enamel)

Thank you for your feedback and for providing images. They were extremely helpful. We want to assure you that the images you shared do not show enamel coming off but rather oil stains that can be easily removed. Here’s how you can clean them using the Boiling Method:

    1. Fill the pan with about 2 cups of water.
    2. Add 1 tablespoon each of baking soda, vinegar, and mild dish soap. Boil for about 10 minutes on medium heat.
      a. Use 1 cup of water, 2 teaspoons each of baking soda, vinegar, and mild dish soap for the 20cm pan.
      b. Adjust the heat level to avoid liquid from boiling over.
      c. Do not use dish soap that prohibits heating.
    3. Use a wooden spatula to scrub the oil stains. Boil for an additional 5 minutes.
    4. Drain and gently scrub the pan with a sponge and mild dish soap.

For daily upkeep of your pan, we've found Bar Keepers Friend (Soft Cleanser) and a ball of plastic wrap to be effective in keeping the pan surface clean. For detailed guidance, please check out our YouTube short (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/hKIrY485QsU) or read through our journal 'Mastering Your Vermicular Pan: Part II (Cleaning)' (https://www.vermicular.us/journal/mastering-your-vermicular-pan-cleaning).

Regarding your concern about the pan’s surface, our pan is intentionally designed with a slightly concave bottom. As you may know, metal expands towards the heat source when heated; therefore, the base of the pan is shaped to accommodate this natural thermal expansion. This feature is particularly important for users of glass cooktops, as pans with flat surfaces may tend to spin or slide. While each pan may have a slightly different degree of concavity due to the handcrafted nature of our products, please rest assured that this is not a manufacturing defect.
