I am a professional chef at a prestigious restaurant. My younger days were spent working at a Japanese Izakaya. I was on the hunt for a rice cooker and kept coming across the same scenario. The rice cookers that I liked, could do the things that I wanted, but were all clad in Teflon or Teflon like products. Personally I hate that we coat our cooking surfaces with these easy to clean cancer causing chemicals. So with plenty of research I finally found out about Vermicular. A toxic free way to cook perfect rice was the only way to go in my opinion. The fact of the matter is, out of the billions of rice grains I’ve cooked through my life and career, the Musui Kamado makes perfect rice everytime. It is the best cooker I have ever used and will ever own.

The Kamado is a great cooker for rice/braised meats and vegetables. I love that they also have a deep inventory of recipies!

Love this design and blacked out version! Staining is from cooking is a little hard to remove with baking soda, but it does come clean with some work. it cooks amazingly! Vermicular needs to make a travel bag and lid strap for taking it other places when I use it as a slow cooker!

I absolutely love the Musui-Kamado. It cooks rice perfectly, and I also have tried some of the recipes, and the food comes out perfect. I will definitely buying more cookware from Vermicular.
