This is one of the best purchases I have ever made of a pot or cooker. My wife and I both love to cook and we have used induction cookers and cast iron pans before, including expensive brands, but the taste that comes from cooking with Musui-Kamdo is unparalleled by anything we've used before, as is the joy of cooking with it. I am using my gas stove 1/10 as much as I used to, mainly just for steaming at this point as I prefer to cook everything in the Musui-Kamado now. It is also an exceptionally good rice cooker - my wife could never cook rice before, but the Musui-Kamado makes it so easy - follow the instructions in the booklet, press a button, and 1 hour later, you've got perfect fluffy rice. If you're considering Musui-Kamado as a cast iron rice cooker, "one pot cooker", cast iron pot, don't think twice! It is a very high quality product and I would recommend it to anyone who knows fine cookware.

I use high end rice cookers from Japan and have to use a voltage counter to use them. Vermicular eliminated the converter step for me and the cooked rice is high quality. Being able to use as a dutch oven broadens its use for me. A longer power cord would make things even better.
